Sampson's Springtime

A week or so ago, Nathan and I went over to his parents house after work. We had planned on Nathan mowing the grass and then staying late to watch the NCAA tournament basketball games. That particular Friday several storms rolled in and it ended up being too wet to mow. Nathan decided that if it was too wet to mow on Friday, we'd spend the night and he would mow on Saturday morning. Well, again, we woke up to rainy weather and it was too wet still. We stayed until after breakfast and then headed home. On Friday evening, in preparation for staying over night, I hauled along my camera gear. And as promised, even if it was a while ago, got a bunch of great images of our favorite Akita. I figured that even if the dog wasn't cooperating, I would still be able to get shots of the emerging springtime life, which is beautiful! Well, thankfully, I happened to get 3, no 4 things out of that trip. One, QT with the in-laws; two, good updated pictures of the dog; three, pretty pics of the plants around the yard; and fourth, good practice with my camera. I am trying to make it a point to get away from shooting in auto mode and delve into the scary world of manual! Yikes....Anyway, here were some of my favorites from the weekend. There are a bunch. Enjoy!

A beautiful pink azalea, that will be transplanted to my house in the fall  because my MIL does not like pink!

Hi there!

Emerging Dogwood

"Sampson, Sit"

I find that this picture is quite comical. First, Rick's head is cut off,  who knows what Nathan is doing, probably looking for something to chop down, with that machete; Sampson thinks his foot tastes good etc and Pam is trying to command attention from Sampson.

Good boy... :)

Ok, this picture is not so good but I posted it so you'd have a reference as to how big this dog is.

Sun Flare

One of the best things about living where we do, is that every single day we get to experience the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The only days we don't get to see the sun coming up over the local farmland or setting over the mountains, is when its very cloudy or rainy or if the fog has settled in. These were from 2 separate evenings. I need to make it a point to have my camera ready in the morning to capture the rising sun, but alas, I haven't figured that into my morning routine... yet. Here are a few pics to prove it. :)
